WSUD genellikle çevresel performansı açısından değer görse de, estetik ve mekânsal katkıları daha az ele alınmıştır. Bu çalışma, Seul'deki Cheonggyecheon Deresi, Toronto'daki Sherbourne Common ve Şanghay'daki Houtan Parkı olmak üzere üç uluslararası örnek alanın analizini ve ilgili literatürün taranmasını temel alarak; su, bitkilendirme, malzeme kullanımı, biçim ve renk gibi öğelerin kentsel görsel kaliteyi ve kullanıcı deneyimini nasıl geliştirdiğini incelemektedir. Araştırma, WSUD'un sadece sürdürülebilir su yönetimini desteklemekle kalmayıp, aynı zamanda kentsel estetiği, mekân kimliğini, kültürel anlamı ve çevresel farkındalığı da zenginleştirdiğini ortaya koymaktadır. Tez, WSUD projelerinde görsel uyumun ve bağlama duyarlı uygulamaların önemine dikkat çeken tasarım görüşleriyle sonuçlanmaktadır.This thesis investigates the visual and design aspects of Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) and its role in shaping contemporary urban environments. While often valued for its environmental performance, WSUD's aesthetic and spatial contributions are less explored. Through a literature review and analysis of three international case studies which are — Cheonggyecheon Stream (Seoul), Sherbourne Common (Toronto), and Shanghai Houtan Park — the study examines how elements such as water, vegetation, materiality, form, and color enhance urban visual quality and user experience. The research reveals that WSUD not only supports sustainable water management but also enriches urban aesthetics, place identity, cultural meaning, and environmental awareness.
