Achieving this change within a conventional framework presents a number of challenges. However, challenges are presented by the rapid change of technological tools and the frustration of updating the architectural scholarship, especially for schools with a traditional curriculum. This paper focuses on a case study of an update in the architectural curriculum for a CAD course. An approach to understanding the impact of digital tools and methods on digital awareness and a sustainable development of the students and pedagogy are presented, discussed, and demonstrated. Based on questionnaires, the students’ learning outcomes are evaluated. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2017.eninfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccessArchitectural curriculaDigital awarenessLearning outcomeComputer aided designCurriculaDigital devicesEducationSurveysTeachingArchitectural educationCAD courseDigital awarenessDigital technologiesDigital toolsLearning outcomeTechnological toolsArchitectural designChallenges in Raising Digital Awareness in Architectural CurriculumConference Object10.1007/978-981-10-5197-5_82-s2.0-85025129472
