In this study, a smart infusion pump was designed to support paramedics' decision-making by considering the patient's medical history, vital signs, and clinical condition. The design process was guided by literature reviews, interviews with ambulance teams, student internship feedback, and observations of protocol-based dosing errors. The pump identifies patient data via QR codes or integrated systems and offers algorithm-supported dosage suggestions with visual and audio guidance. The Quick Mode includes predefined protocols for common emergencies such as cardiac arrest, anaphylaxis, and hypoglycemia. The system can alert users about high-risk medications, recommend appropriate drug-dose-rate combinations, and issue automatic reminders for administration timing. Its user-friendly interface and LCD screen, operable in low light, ensure safe and effective use in the field. The device aims to support accurate dosage calculations using patient-specific data such as age, weight, height, and medical history.trinfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccessEmergency Medical ServicesSmart Infusion PumpDecision SupportDrug AdministrationParamedicsPrehospital CareDesign of a Smart Infusion Pump with Decision SupportKarar Destekli Akll Infuzyon Pompas TasarmConference Object10.1109/TIPTEKNO68206.2025.112700962-s2.0-105030543011
