Having completed his LL.B studies at Ankara University, Faculty of Law between 2005-09, Utku received his LL.M degree from King's College London in 2012 with a distinction for his master dissertation titled "Abuse of the Right to Access ICSID Arbitration". He currently pursues his Ph.D studies on Turkish Company Law at Hacettepe University, Ankara. He started his professional career as a lecturer at one of a newly developing state universities in Turkey as part of his two-year mandatory service, between 2013-2015, in return for the scholarship granted by the Ministry of National Education of Turkey for his master studies in the UK. After two years of academic experience, Utku, on his personal choice, returned to practice in order to re-gain experience in the field and worked as an attorney-at-law at an international law firm in Ankara for a year. During his period as an attorney-at-law, he had the chance to deal with various subjects of law serving mainly to foreign clients in a law firm where the majority of the foreign embassies in Ankara, incl. China, South Korea, Pakistan, Austria, Poland etc., worked with in the legal matters of their own and their citizens. Since April 2017, he is a member of the Izmir University of Economics as a lecturer and teaches several basic law courses at Vocational School of Justice and the Faculty of Law. He is fluent in English and upper-intermediate (B2) in German.
