Conference Object Investigation of Sleep-Related Respiratory Disorders in the Young Stroke Patients(Wiley, 2022) Ak, A. Kisabay; Saritas, A.; Batum, M.; Goktalay, T.; Dinç Horasan, Gönül; Selcuki, D.; Yilmaz, H.; Horasan, G. Dinc[Abstract Not Available]Book Part Bölüm-4: Araştırma Grubunun Tanımlayıcı Özellikleri.(2021) Dinç Horasan, GönülMaster Thesis Hasta Düşmelerini Önlemede Hemşirelerin Öz Yeterliliği, İş Yükü ve Hasta Güvenliği Kültürü Arasındaki İlişkinin İncelenmesi(İzmir Ekonomi Üniversitesi, 2021) Eker, Özge Düzova; Horasan, Gönül DinçBu çalışma, hasta düşmelerini önlemede hemşirelerin öz yeterliliği, iş yükü ve hasta güvenliği kültürü arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Article Citation - WoS: 8Citation - Scopus: 8Health-Related Quality of Life and Perceived Health Status of Turkish Population(Springer, 2019-03-21) Horasan, Gonul Dinc; Selcuk, Kevser Tari; Sakarya, Sibel; Sozmen, Kaan; Ergor, Gul; Yardim, Nazan; Sarioglu, GulayPurpose; This study was conducted to assess the health-related quality of life (HRQOL) and perceived health status of the Turkish population. Methods The data came from a nationwide survey, which was conducted by Ministry of Health on prevalence and risk factors for chronic diseases in Turkey, with a representative random sample of 18,477 people aged >= 15 years from Turkey. Each family physician invited two individuals selected from their registered population to the Family Health Center, conducted the survey by face to face interviews using an electronic form. HRQOL was determined using EQ-5D-3L scale. Results In Turkish population, each four women out of 10, two men out of 10 have problems in pain/discomfort and anxiety/depression dimensions of the scale; three women out of 10, one man out of 10 have some or severe problems in mobility. Proportion of people without health problems (health state 11,111) were 64,1% in men, 40,7% in women. The mean VAS score for males was 71.50.2 (95% CI 70.9-72.1), 66.4 +/- 0.2 (95% CI 65.8-66.9) for females (p < 0.05).The most important determinants of having a problem in any of the five dimensions are age, gender, education, diabetes mellitus, coronary heart disease, stroke, alzheimer, cancer, renal failure. The OR of having some or severe problems in any dimensions was 4.6 (95% CI 38-5.4) for over 65-74 and 7.5 (95% CI 5.8-9.6) for over 75 compared to 15-24 age group. Conclusions: The perceived health level and HRQOL is worse in women, in older age groups, in people from lower socioeconomical status.Conference Object Health-Related Qol and Fatality in Chd Patients: Findings From a National Cohort Study, Turkey(Oxford Univ Press, 2021) Alpay, E. The purpose of the study is to evaluate differences in all-cause and cardiovascular-related mortality according to HT status by using national data from Chronic Diseases and Risk Factors Survey in Turkey (2011-2017).Materials and Methods: Cox regression models were used to estimate hazard ratios (HR) for predicting the all-cause and cardiovascular system-related mortalities. Median follow-up period was 6.2 years. Results: Among individuals with HT, 41.8% was untreated, 30.1% received treatment and had controlled blood pressure, and 28.1% were under treatment but had uncontrolled BP levels. The hazard for mortality among treated & uncontrolled hypertensive participants was significantly higher for all-cause (HR = 1.32, 95% CI = 1.06-1.65), cardiovascular (HR = 2.11, 95% CI = 1.46-3.06), heart disease (HR = 2.24, 95% CI = 1.46-3.43), and Coronary Heart Disease mortality (HR = 2.66, 95% CI = 1.56-4.53) compared to normotensive participants. Conclusions: Individuals with HT who were treated but do not have controlled blood pressure in Turkey had a significantly increased risk of Cardiovascular Disease and all-cause mortality. Along with studies investigating the causes of uncontrolled blood pressure despite initiation of treatment, support should be provided to patients in cases of non-adherence to antihypertensive medication or life change recommendations.Conference Object Educational Level Inequalities in Cardiovascular Outcomes and All-Cause Mortality in Turkey: a Cohort(Oxford Univ Press, 2021) Erkoyun, E.; Unal, B.; Sakarya, S.; Sozmen, K.; Dinç Horasan, Gönül; Ekinci, B.; Ergor, G.; Horasan, G. Dinc[Abstract Not Available]Master Thesis Pandemi Sürecinde Hemşirelerin Otantik Liderlik Algısı ve Belirsizliğe Tahamülsüzlük Düzeyleri ile Hasta Güvenliği Algıları Arasındaki İlişkisinin Analizi(İzmir Ekonomi Üniversitesi, 2021) Akkuş, Selin; Horasan, Gönül DinçCOVID-19 pandemisinde iş yükünün fazla olması, belirsizlik gibi nedenlerle sağlık personelinde psikososyal sorunların arttığı düşünülmektedir. Article Citation - WoS: 3Citation - Scopus: 3Investigation of Sleep Breathing Disorders in Young Patients (under 55 Years) With Mild Stroke(Elsevier, 2020-12) Kisabay, Aysin A. K.; Saritas, Aysegul Seyma; Batum, Melike; Goktalay, Tugba; Horasan, Gonul Dinc; Selcuki, Deniz; Yilmaz, Hikmet; Selcuki, Prof. Dr. Deniz; Şeyma Sarıtaş, Specialist Dr. Ayşegül; Horasan, Prof. Dr. Gönül Dinç; Batum, Specialist Dr. Melike; Kisabay Ak, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aysin; Göktalay, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tuğba; Yilmaz, Prof. Dr. HikmetIntroduction: Many patients with stroke also have sleep breathing disorders (SBD), most of which is obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Methods: Sixty patients with a history of stroke aged under 55 years were included in our study. The demographic characteristics (age at stroke, sex, body mass index) of the patients and etiology of stroke was evaluated according to the Trial of Org 10712 in Acute Stroke (TOAST) classification. The National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and Modified Rankin Scale (MRS) were used to evaluate functionality. All patients underwent polysomnography (PSG) investigations. Findings: Based on PSG investigations, seven patients were normal, 10 had primary snoring, and 14 had mild, 11 had moderate, and 18 had severe OSA. The demographic characteristics did not differ significantly between the groups. No significant correlation was found between disease severity and NIHSS, MRS or TOAST classifications. Large artery atherosclerosis in the etiology, facial paralysis and dysarthria in the neurological examination, and brain stem involvement in the stroke location were observed to accumulate in the severe OSA group. When the anterior system, posterior system, and association of both were compared for vessel location, no significant difference was found regarding circulatory systems. Conclusions: It is considered that SBD has also a role in the etiology of stroke in patients aged under 55 years, and it should be taken into consideration as much as other risk factors. This is the first study to emphasize the importance of this topic in the literature.Article Quality of Life, Anxiety and Depression in Patients With Androgenetic Alopecia(Medcom Ltd, 2021) Bilac, C.; Kutlubay, Z.; Ozturkcan, S.; Serdaroglu, S.; Sahin, M. T.; Yasar, A.; Dinç Horasan, Gönül; Dinç, G.Background: Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is a common form of hair loss, which can result in body image disorder and negative social feelings. Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the quality of life (QoL) and the risk of anxiety and depression in AGA patients. Method: Sociodemographic data of the patients and clinical severity of the disease were recorded. The QoL score of patient and controls was evaluated with DLQI and SF-36 instruments, their anxiety and depression risks were evaluated with HAD (HAD-A and HAD-D) instruments. Results: Sixty-eight patients with AGA were included in our study. Young male AGA patients' quality of life levels were found to be low according to role limitations due to emotional problems, emotional wellbeing and emotional scores of SF-36 scale and younger female AGA patients quality of life levels were also found to be low according to role limitations due to emotional problems, and emotional scores of SF-36 scale. The DLQI scores of patients of both sex were found to be significantly higher compared to control group. According to anxiety and depression risk assessment with HAD scale, it was found that 28.6% and 73.5% of patients were prone to suffer from anxiety and depression respectively. Conclusion: Apart from managing alopecia, practitioners should be aware of the possible psychosocial distress of AGA patients and manage accordingly.
