Book Part Citation - Scopus: 6Does Information and Communication Technologies Sustain Economic Growth? The Underdeveloped and Developing Countries Case(IGI Global, 2010) Erdil, Erkan; Yetkiner, Hakan; Türkcan, BurcuThis chapter tests the impact of ICT on economic growth for underdeveloped and developing countries by using a panel dataset for the period of 1995-2006. The authors first develop the theory of the relationship between ICT and economic growth. They show that ICT-capital has a positive effect both on long-run and transitional income per capita, if it is considered as a factor of production. Next, the authors estimate a panel data set with 131 underdeveloped and developing countries under the assumption that ICT is one of the determining factors of economic growth. They find that ICT has positive and significant effect on economic growth even after the use of some control variables. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.Article Citation - WoS: 72Citation - Scopus: 85The Granger-Causality Between Health Care Expenditure and Output: a Panel Data Approach(Routledge Journals, Taylor & Francis Ltd, 2009) Erdil, Erkan; Yetkiner, İ HakanThis study investigates the Granger-causality relationship between real per capita GDP and real per capita health care expenditure by employing a large macro panel data set with a VAR representation. The findings verify that the dominant type of Granger-causality is bidirectional. In instances that we found one-way causality, the pattern is not homogenous: Our analyses show that one-way causality generally runs from income to health in low- and middle-income countries whereas the reverse holds for high-income countries. Accordingly, care must be paid in defining the dependent and independent variables when specifying the determinants of health care expenditure.Editorial Industrial Dynamics, Innovation Policy, and Economic Growth Through Technological Advancements Preface(Igi Global, 2013) Yetkiner, İ Hakan; Pamukcu, M.
