Experimental Validation of Travel Time Models for Multi Aisle Automated Storage and Retrieval System in Class-Based Storage
(ICPE Electra Publishing House, 2016) Ouhoud A.; Guezzen A.; Sari Z.
The aim of this paper is to validate travel time models for single cycle displacements of S/R machine in multi aisle automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS) by using experimental computer simulation. The models under consideration take into account class based storage. We use ARENA 12 software for the simulation modeling. By simulation, we emulate the real functioning of the system. Therefore, we assume that the results from the ARENA simulation are equivalent to the onsite experimentation. Simulation results present a comparative study carried between a class-based storage and purely random storage. © 2016, ICPE Electra Publishing House. All rights reserved.

Facility Unvailabilities Management and Supply Chains Design
    (Lavoisier, 2016) Maliki F.; Brahami M.A.; Dahane M.; Sari Z.
The supply chain is subject to random failures caused by different factors which cause the unavailability of some sites. In this sense, the management of these unavailabilities is becoming a strategic choice to ensure the desired reliability and availability levels of the different supply chain facilities. In this work, we treat two problems related to the field of supply chain, namely the design and unavailahilities management of logistics facilities. Specifically, we consider a stochastic distribution network with consideration of suppliers selection and distribution centres (DCs) location decisions and DCs unavai/abi/ities management. Our resolution approach consists firstly on define the best supply chain structure using an optimization approach based on genetic algorithms (GA), then to simulate the supply chain performance with the presence of DCs failures. Two simulation strategies are performed, one by replace each unavailable DC by the closest DC and the other consist on performing a reallocation using GA. The obtained results of the two strategies are detailed and compared. © Lavoisier 2016.

Minimizing Tardiness for Job Shop Scheduling Under Uncertainties
(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2016) Yahouni Z.; Mebarki N.; Sari Z.
Many disturbances can occur during the execution of a manufacturing scheduling process. To cope with this drawback, flexible solutions are proposed based on the offline and the online phase of the schedule. Groups of permutable operations is one of the most studied flexible scheduling methods bringing flexibility as well as quality to a schedule. The online phase of this method is based on a human-machine system allowing to choose in real-time one schedule from a set of schedules that fits best the real state of the system. In this paper, we propose and evaluate a new criterion called the best-case in order to be used in real-time during the online phase of the groups of permutable operations. This criterion offers an optimal or near-optimal solution from a set of solutions. The usefulness of this criterion is showed using a comparative review with two other criteria on a benchmark instances using the maximum tardiness objective. © 2016 IEEE.
