Biography
Şehir ve Bölge Planlama lisansı ile Kentsel Tasarım yüksek lisansını ODTÜ’de, mimarlık tarihi yüksek lisansı ile sanat tarihi doktorasını sırasıyla University College London, Bartlett School of Architecture ve Toronto Üniversitesi’nde tamamladı. Soğuk Savaş dönemi mimarlık kültürü, kolektif belleğin mekânsal inşası, duyguların tarihi, mimarlıkta romantik gelenek, mimari yayıncılığın kamusal mecraları ile Antroposen çağında mimari tahayyüller başlıca çalışma konuları arasındadır. Makaleleri Memory Studies (2020) ile Birikim (2008) dergilerinde ve Architecture, Democracy, Emotions since 1945 (Routledge, 2018), Mid-Century Modernism in Turkey (Routledge, 2015), İzmir Kültürpark’ın Anımsa(ma)dıkları (İletişim, 2015) kitaplarında yer almıştır.

After receiving an undergraduate degree in City and Regional Planning from the Middle East Technical University in 1998, he completed a master’s degree in Urban Design at the same university with his thesis on the gated communities in Istanbul. He later received a second master’s degree in Architectural History from University College London, Bartlett School of Architecture, with his thesis on theatre architecture in 19th-century London. He completed his Ph.D. in Art History at the University of Toronto in 2104. His Ph.D. dissertation is on the influence of American architecture on postwar Turkish architectural culture. His academic interests include: history of modern architecture, the architectural culture of the Cold War era, the representation of the city and architecture in art and literature, 20th-century Turkish architecture
