Dr. Onur Merter was born in 1983 in Izmir. In 2005, he graduated from Dokuz Eylul University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering with honors. He became a research assistant at Dokuz Eylul University in 2006. In 2008, he was awarded a Master’s Degree in Structural/Civil Engineering from Dokuz Eylul University, The Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences. He successfully completed the Ph.D. program in 2014 and received a doctorate degree in Structural/Civil Engineering. He worked as a Dr. Research Assistant at Dokuz Eylul University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering between 2014-2017. He worked as an Assistant Professor in Usak University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering between 2017-2019. He is currently working as a full-time Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at Izmir University of Economics. He has many national and international academic articles and symposium papers related to his research area. He has given many undergraduate and graduate courses in the field of Structural Engineering and he is still working as an associate editor of a scientific journal. His main areas of expertise are Reinforced Concrete Structures, Earthquake Engineering, and Energy-Based Structural Design. Dr. Onur MERTER received the title of Associate Professorship from ÜAK on the 15th of April, 2020.
Assoc.Prof.Dr. Onur MERTER is the Editorial Board Member of “Frontiers in Built Environment” International Journal in the branch of “Earthquake Engineering”.
