Biography
Simon Mumford Oxford Brooks Üniversitesi”nden 1983 yılında mezun oldu. 1985 yılında TEFL RSA Sertifikasını aldı.Türkiye-İzmir”de çeşitli dil kurslarında ve bir özel okulda çalıştı.1997-2003 yıları arasında Ege Üniversitesi Hazırlık bölümünde çalıştı. 2004 yılında İngiltere-Aston Üniversitesi TESOL programını tamamlayarak yüksek lisans derecesi aldı. 2003 yılından itibaren İzmir Ekonomi Üniversitesi’nde çalışmaktadır. ENG101 ve ENG 10 derslerinde akademik içerik eğitim vermektedir. Yazma merkezinde başvuran akademisyenlerin çalişmalarına düzeltme ve öneri yapmaktedir. Halen Bahçeşehir Üniversitesinde doktora tez aşamasındadır. İngilizce eğitim, dil eğitim değirlendirme ve akademik ingilizcde konularında yayınlanmış makaleleri bulunmaktadır.

Simon Mumford graduated from Oxford Brookes University in 1983. He was awarded the RSA Certificate in TEFL in 1985. He has taught at various English Language courses and a private secondary school in Izmir, Turkey. He taught on the Ege University English preparatory course from 1997 to 2003. In 2004, he graduated from the Aston University (UK) Msc.TESOL programme. He has taught at Izmir University of Economics since 2003. He teaches academic skills courses ENG 101 and 102. He is also Writing Centre advisor, which involves editing the papers of faculty staff. He is currently doing a PhD in ELT at Bahçeşehir University, and is writing a thesis on the teaching of academic writing. He has published academic articles on teacher education, language testing and academic English.
