K.Nazan Turhan has been Professor of Food Engineering at Izmir University of Economics, Turkey since 2012. Her graduate, MSc and PhD degrees were awarded at Hacettepe University, Turkey. Prof. Turhan was involved in various projects between 2001-2003 as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Wisconsin, Food Sciences Department, USA.
Her research interests focus mainly on edible food packaging materials, antimicrobial and biodegradable food packaging, food protection and preservation.
