Article Citation - WoS: 3Citation - Scopus: 3Investigating Older Adults Technology Attitudes: Psychometric Evaluation and Cross-Cultural Adaptation of the Techph Scale(Elsevier Ireland Ltd, 2025-11) Ozgul, Ecem; Doner, Nedime Hazal; Curuk, Gulsum NihalThis study aimed to examine the psychometric properties of the Turkish version of the TechPH scale (TechPH-T) among older adults. A descriptive, methodological, and cross-sectional design was employed. Data were collected between February and April 2025 using a sociodemographic information form and the TechPH-T scale. The validity of the scale was evaluated through psycholinguistic analysis, content validity, Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). Reliability was assessed using Cronbach's alpha coefficient, item-total correlations, and test-retest reliability. The TechPH-T demonstrated excellent content validity, with a Content Validity Index (CVI) of 1.00, and showed adequate sensitivity. In the factor analyses, all factor loadings exceeded 0.30. CFA results indicated a good model fit (chi 2/df = 3.720, CFI = 0.924, IFI = 0.926, GFI = 0.955, RMR < 0.01, and 90 % confidence interval of RMSEA = 0.071). The Cronbach's alpha coefficient for the overall scale was 0.702. These findings suggest that the TechPH-T is a valid and reliable instrument for assessing technology attitudes among older adults in Turkey. Book Part Oxygen Therapy and Noninvasive Mechanical Ventilation(Nova Science Publishers, Inc., 2023) Ozbudak, G.; Döner, Nedime Hazal; Yesilbalkan, O.U.Oxygen therapy is a medical treatment that involves the administration of oxygen to patients who do not receive enough O2 naturally. Oxygen can be administered in a variety of ways, such as through nasal tubes or masks, or even through a ventilator. Noninvasive mechanical ventilation (NIMV) is a form of mechanical ventilation used to assist breathing without the need for an invasive airway such as an endotracheal tube. Instead, a mask or other device is used to provide positive pressure ventilation to the patient's airway. © 2023 by Nova Science Publishers, Inc. Hazal; Aykar, Fisun Şenuzun; Fadıloğlu, ÇiçekKoronavirüsler tek zincirli, zarflı RNA virüsleridir. Article Citation - WoS: 1Investigation of the Reasons and Frequency of Oncology Patients Over the Age of 65 Who Apply To the Emergency Department(Springer, 2025-04-25) Doner, Nedime Hazal; Yesilbalkan, Oznur Usta; Taktuk, Ugur; Usta Yeşilbalkan, ÖznurPurpose This study aims to investigate frequency and causes of emergency department visits among oncology patients aged 65 and older. Method In this cross-sectional, descriptive and comparative study, data were collected a questionnaire form from a single emergency deparment of a university hospital in & Idot;zmir, West Turkey between January 2022 and July 2022. Data were analyzed by using IBM SPSS Statistics 25 software. Results A total 125 patients were included in the study. The most common causes of patients to the emergency derparment were infection, pain, nausea-vomiting, and dyspnea. A significant difference was found between the reason for the patient's emergency department visit and their knowledge of when to seek medical help (p < 0.05). Conclusion The recurrent visits of cancer patients to emergency departments suggest an inadequacy of comprehensive information available to both patients and their caregivers concerning the pursuit of emergency medical intervention.Article Risk of Type 2 Diabetes Development in Nurses: Does Shift Work Affect It(Wiley, 2026-01-23) Yel, Pinar; Doner, Nedime Hazal; Akyol, Asiye; Tureyen, AynurShift work systems contribute to chronic disease development. This study examined shift work systems' effect on nurses' risk of developing type 2 diabetes. This descriptive, cross-sectional study of 278 nurses between April 15 and July 15, 2024, used data from an online survey using a "Nurse's demographic form" and the "Finnish Type 2 Diabetes Risk Score." The snowball sampling technique was used. The study found 56.1% of nurses worked 24-h shifts (08:00-08:00), and 39.2% worked eight or more night shifts monthly. A significant relationship existed between shift work duration and type 2 diabetes development (p = 0.005). The risk of type 2 diabetes increased with longer durations of work in different shifts. Nurses with 11-15 years' experience working day shifts and 24-h shifts had a lower risk of type 2 diabetes (p = 0.045). Nurses working 08:00-08:00 shifts in the Emergency Department had a higher diabetes risk than those in other shifts (p < 0.001). Findings suggest shift work may increase type 2 diabetes risk among nurses. Interventions and workplace strategies are needed to mitigate this risk and support nursing health.Article Giving Care To the Caregiver According To the Theory of Uncertainty of Merle in Hemorrhagic Stroke: a Case Report(2022-09-07) Karadakovan, Ayfer; Döner, Nedi Me HazalStroke, which is accepted as an important health problem, especially in developed countries, ranks third after coronary artery diseases when the causes of death in the world are examined.
