Article Adolescent Health Knowledge of Family Physicians(2023-10-06) Aygün, Olgu; Küçükerdem, Halime Seda; Gökdemir, ÖzdenBackground: There are certain life periods when physicians are more cautious with their patients. However, health needs are often disregarded throughout the adolescent era, even though it is a time when fast changes occur in many facets of life, including physical, psychological, cognitive, and social development. This study aimed to contribute to the improvement of adolescent health by measuring the degree of knowledge of family physicians (FPs) on adolescent health services. Material-Method: The was a descriptive-cross-sectional design study. A questionnaire was given to 2200 FPs by e-mail and 344 accepted to participate. The questionnaire had a 13% response rate. Results: Women made up 56.4% of the participants (n=194) and the average age of the participants was 38.77 years (SD: 10.08) (min: 25, max: 80). Two hundred fifteen (62.5%) of the FPs who participated in the survey, had encountered adolescent patients. The family physician that the first one consulted has ordered Magnetic Resonance Imagining for the sacroiliac region as the patient told that the pain when she was sitting for at least two and half years and nowadays her pain was more although she was taking her painkillers. According to the non-contrast, MRI of the sacroiliac joint: “ joint surfaces exhibit irregularity and narrowing. In the posterior, more prominent articular surfaces on the right in the fat-suppressed axial and coronary sequences, there is focal bone marrow edema and sacroiliitis activation. The right adnexa within the sections showed an 8 cm cystic appearance. MRI and USG of the lower abdomen are advised.”. The importance of training well-educated and qualified healthcare professionals (HPs) has been reconsidered. The rapid spread of the epidemic revealed the limitations of traditional method education. Massive online courses (MOOCs) were offered as a solution to keep the information up-to-date and accessible. The aim of our study was to evaluate the perceptions and experiences of healthcare professionals on strengthening the health system during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: In this descriptive cross-sectional multi-centered study, an online survey was applied to HPs between February-May 2021. There were 28 participating countries. Due to international participation, the survey was conducted in English. Results: There were 88 female and 87 male participants. Most of the participants were from Europe and Euroasia. Most of them reported their income as $501-$1500 US Dollars). The duration of job experience was between 5-15 years. 111 of them have completed a postdoctoral degree. Conclusion: According to the survey, all the groups reported as the effect of strengthening primary care by MOOC was positive.Article Tıp Fakültesi Öğrencilerinin Kanıta Dayalı Tıp Farkındalık Düzeyleri(2022-12-15) Arslan, Mehmet; Keskin Arslan, Elif; Küçükerdem, Halime Seda; Çakır, Meryem; Koç, Esra Meltem; Sözmen, Melih Kaan; Pamuk, Gülseren; Keskin-arslan, Elif; Sozmen, Kaan; Kaplan, Yusuf; Arslan, Elif KeskinAmaç: Kanıta dayalı tıp, klinikte hastayla ilgili kararlar alırken hekimin kişisel deneyimlerine, hasta değer ve beklentilerine, var olan kanıtlanmış bilgileri entegre etmesi, bu bilgilerin dikkatli, açık ve mantıklı bir şekilde kullanılmasıdır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, bir tıp fakültesi öğrencilerinin kanıta dayalı tıp ile ilgili farkındalıklarının değerlendirilmesi ve elde edilecek veriler ile öğrencilerin tıp eğitimi süresince kanıta dayalı tıp ile ilgili teorik ve pratik ders içeriğinin belirlenmesine ışık tutmaktır. Yöntem: Çalışmanın evrenini, tıp fakültesi dönem 3, 4, 5 ve 6 öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada kullanılmak üzere araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilmiş, toplamda 23 sorudan oluşan anket formları hazırlandı ve istatistiksel değerlendirmede ki-kare testi ve Fisher’s exact test kullanıldı. Bulgular: Araştırmaya 163 öğrenci dâhil edildi. Katılımcıların %43,6’sı kanıta dayalı tıp eğitimi almıştı ve katılımcıların %92’si kanıta dayalı tıbbı duymuştu. Katılımcıların %78,5’i kanıta dayalı tıp ile ilgili daha fazla bilgi edinmek istiyordu. Tıbbi bilgi edinmek için katılımcıların %93,9’u ders notları, %75,5’i ders kitabı kullanıyordu ve veri tabanlarını bilme durumları açısından %81’i Pubmed, %58,3’ü Google Akademik, %55,3’ü Medline, %35’i UpToDate’i biliyordu. Sonuç: Mevcut kanıta dayalı tıp kaynaklarına ilişkin farkındalığın artırılmasına ve bunlaraerişim sağlanmasına gereksinim vardır. Kanıta dayalı tıp eğitimi için üniversitelerde uygun müfredat hazırlanmalı ve kanıta dayalı tıbbın önündeki engeller ortadan kaldırılmalıdır.
