Article Alışveriş Merkezleri Hizmetlerinde Engeller ve Savunmasızlık Kaynakları: Engelli Bireylerin Bakış Açısı(2023) Köstepen Özbek, Kübra Göksu; Yumurtacı Hüseyinoğlu, Işık Özge; Oflaç, Bengü; Hüseyinoğlu, Işık Özge Yumurtacı; Özbek, Kübra Göksu KöstepenBu çalışmanın amacı, engelli bireylerin alışveriş merkezlerine eri- şimde ve alışveriş merkezinin içerisinde tecrübe ettikleri savunma- sızlık kaynaklarını araştırmaktır. Review Exploring the Factors Affecting Shared Biking Perception: Insights From Türkiye(Ege univ, fac economics & admin sciences, 2024-04-08) Oflaç, Bengü; Özcan, Seda; Sevil Oflac, BenguUnderstanding consumer perception regarding shared biking services requires the analysis of psychological factors underlying the late diffusion of shared biking services. In this regard, by scrutinizing these underlying factors, we aim to uncover insights that can inform the development of targeted business strategies that better align with users' preferences and needs, thereby overcoming barriers to adoption and facilitating the wider dissemination of shared biking systems. Findings show that as consumers perceive shared biking services as useful and hedonic, their attitudes become more favorable. Importantly, highlighting the mediating role of compatibility, this study emphasizes the congruence among shared biking services, consumers' lifestyles, and their traveling habits. Findings also suggest that perceived complexity has a negative impact on shared biking attitudes. Interestingly, no significant relationship was found between perceived risk and shared biking attitude. The findings provide further support for innovation diffusion and theory of reasoned action. The suggested theoretical framework integrates variables related to both barriers and drivers, thus guiding future studies on the sharing economy. The study also provides insights that contribute to the development of service design and marketing strategies that respond better to users' needs, and also, facilitate the spread of these mobility systems.Article Risks in Road Transportation of Sport Horses: the Case of Turkey(2022-05-31) Göçer, Aysu; Alamdari, Elnaz Taghizadeh; Oflaç, BengüHorses are transported more frequently than any other animals (European Commission, 2002), but lack of education and knowledge in and control over their transportation leads to consequences harmful for the development and expansion of the industry. This study investigates the risks of horse transportation and aims to improve risk mitigation by proposing procedures and control systems. This study focuses particularly on racehorses and showjumping horses, considering their volume and the value of the equestrian market. Employing multi-method research, we aim to investigate the risks involved in horse transportation in Turkey and contribute to the related literature by creating a holistic approach with multiple parties involved in the industry. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with coaches, riders, grooms, drivers, a veterinarian, and a company owner in three cities of Turkey. The data revealed seven risk categories in horse road transportation: employee expertise, insurance issuance, horse health and safety, industry qualification, infrastructure, transportation planning, and vehicle design.
