| gperson.biography | Hugh Clarke is a British architect who was elected into the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) in 1983 after the standard 7 year education carried out at the University of Portsmouth (undergraduate) and London Metropolitan University (post-graduate). Some years after he studied for another post-professional Masters in European Cultural Planning. After working for a number of well established architectural firms in London, he set up his own practice initially in central London and then in Jersey in the British Channel Islands where he carried out projects in the UK and the Far East. Throughout this period he has taught architecture including a period as Head of Department at a university in Cyprus. In 2006 he completed 10 short pieces for BBC radio based on a series of architectural walks. Parallel to his work practicing and teaching he also worked as a professional classical guitarist and performed throughout the UK and Cyprus. He has always been interested in the relationship between architecture and music. | |
