dc.description.abstract This study investigates high school students’ environmental thoughts and behaviors. Two hundred and ninety-six students from Istanbul, Turkey’s Marmara Region’s Hisar School participated in the current study. The higher education institution samples used in this analysis came from earlier studies conducted by the authors. The statistical methods of principal component analysis, independent sample t test, chi-square test, and regression analysis are used to assess the data collected for the present study. The research aims to verify that the given hypothesis holds for every sample. Among the significant findings are high-level environmental attitudes and behaviors together with statistically proven differences between male and female students. Compared to male students, more female students participate in physical and academic environmental consciousness than male students. Students in high school typically focus more on environmental issues. The results showed that environmental concerns have a greater ability to impact behavior connected to the environment than environmental knowledge and attitude and that there is a positive correlation between parents’ income levels and their level of environmentalism. © The Author(s) 2024. en_US
