Abstract

It is shown that the exceedingly dense interiors of neutron stars can act as moving gravitational wave-reflecting boundaries in an optical cavity. The orbital motion of the mergers causes a gravitational dynamical Casimir effect, with consequent creation of gravity quanta from the vacuum and parametric amplification of the graviton flux. The challenges and limitations of the model are discussed, along with realistic observation and detection strategies.
