Abstract

International entrepreneurship research suggests that there is an association between national culture and entrepreneurship. However, the findings are inconsistent. This study aims to explore the relationship between culture and entrepreneurial cognition, namely likelihood of venture creation, aspiration of the entrepreneur for the new venture, and opportunity evaluation, based on Hofstede's (1980) conceptualization of culture.Findings suggest that culture and entrepreneurial cognitions are significantly interrelated. © 2011, Copyright CCSBE/CCPME.
