On Characteristic Properties of the Uniform Distribution

Abstract

In this paper two characterizations of the uniform distribution using record values will be considered. The first characterization is based on the relation XU(m) - XU(m-1)d = XL(m), m > 1, where XU(m) and XL(m) denote the mth upper and lower record values, respectively.
