Abstract

In situations requiring emergency response, such as disasters and accidents, current triage processes are largely manual and rely on staff experience, making them prone to time loss and errors during high-volume events. Healthcare teams must measure and prioritize the vital signs of many injured individuals in a limited timeframe, and traditional methods (manual pulse checks, respiratory counts, consciousness checks, paper triage tags, etc.) are inconsistent, instantaneous, and static assessments. This can lead to overlooked deterioration in patient conditions, particularly in mass casualties. The aim of this study is to develop a simple smart wearable triage system that minimizes human errors.
