Abstract

Background: Temporary and permanent ostomies are created in neonates during the surgical treatment of various diseases. Such patients are physiologically and structurally immature, and their special needs can pose a challenge to treatment and care. Cases: This study describes the stoma care of 3 neonates who developed peristomal complications. Conclusion: The development of an appropriate stoma management plan that responds to the specific care needs of the neonate will facilitate the improvement of care quality in such cases. © 2023 Neonatal Nurses Association
