Article Citation - WoS: 1Citation - Scopus: 1Distinguishability of a Source Function in a Time Fractional Inhomogeneous Parabolic Equation With Robin Boundary Condition(Hacettepe Univ, Fac Sci, 2018) Özbilge Kahveci, Ebru; Demir, AliThis article deals with the mathematical analysis of the inverse problem of identifying the distinguishability of input-output mappings in the linear time fractional inhomogeneous parabolic equation D(t)(alpha)u(x, t) = (k(x)u(x))(x) + F(x, t) 0 < alpha <= 1, with Robin boundary conditions u(0, t) = psi(0)(t), u(x)(1,t ) = gamma(u(1, t) - psi(1)(t)). By defining the input-output mappings Phi[.] : K -> C-1[0, T] and Psi[.] : K -> C[0, T] the inverse problem is reduced to the problem of their invertibility. Hence, the main purpose of this study is to investigate the distinguishability of the input-output mappings Phi[.] and Psi[.]. Moreover, the measured output data f(t) and h(t) can be determined analytically by a series representation, which implies that the input-output mappings Phi[.] : K -> C-1[0, T] and Psi[.] : K -> C[0, T] can be described explicitly.Article Evaluation of the Relationship Between Diabetic Retinopathy and the Development of Left Atrial Stiffness in Patients With Diabetes Mellitus(AVES, 2023) Birdal, Oğuzhan; Saygı, Mehmet; Doğan, Remziye; Pay, Levent; Aksakal, Emrah; Topaloglu, Caner; Yıldırım, MustafaObjective: Based on several studies, atrial remodeling results in an increase in left atrial (LA) stiffness, which is indicative of a worsened reservoir function. A typical microvascular consequence of diabetes mellitus (DM) is diabetic retinopathy. Therefore, the objective of this study was to assess the factors that might be related to LA stiffness in DM patients. Materials and Methods: There were 200 DM patients in the study population. The LA stiffness value of 0.33 led to the division of the patients into 2 groups. According to these groups, the parameters to predict the development of the LA stiffness were investigated. Results: The patient population’s median age was 54.7 ± 9.4 years, and of them, 105 (52.5% of the popula- tion) were men. Retinopathy was substantially linked with LA stiffness. Interventricular septum thickness (B coefficient: 0.261, 95% CI 0.128; 0.394; P < .001), mitral annular plane systolic excursion (B coefficient: −0.350, 95% CI −0.489; −0.2212; P < 0.001), and retinopathy (B coefficient: 0.644, 95% CI 0.307; 0.983; P < .001) were identified as independent predictors of the progression of LA stiffness by the linear regression model. Conclusion: The results of the current investigation demonstrated a correlation between higher LA stiffness values and the presence of diabetic retinopathy in diabetic patients.Article An Example of the Impact of American Missionaries on the Creation of Turks and Muslim Perceptions in the Western Public: Edwin Munsell Bliss(Ege Univ, 2020) Yilmaz, Elcin; Ozkan, KenanThe beginning of the Armenian issue, which has never fallen from the agenda of our country, goes as far as the beginning of the 1915 events until the beginning of the 18th century. Especially the missionary activities supported by the great states in terms of their own political interests since the second half of the 18th century became the main factor that enabled the Turkish-Armenian relations in the Ottoman Empire to become tense. Among the states, we call great powers; America was the most prominent in missionary activities. The Protestants who fled to America to get rid of the Catholic-driven slaughter in Europe spent a missionary establishment in Boston, known as the American Board, at the end of the 18th century. The main aim of the institution; Protestantism and the Bible all over the world to promote and widespread. Young American missionaries who study both science and religion in all American schools affiliated with the American Board organization have been working with great ideals around the world. The American Protestant missionaries propagated the propaganda that the Armenians who were kept alive by keeping the diaries of the so-called survivors were slaughtered by the Turks while they tried to receive education and health affairs and received acceptance and respect among the Christians and they produced the ideological and ideological dimension of the Armenian question with the writings they wrote and the reports they sent to other countries. These missionaries wrote about the oppressed Armenian and dreadful Turkish theme in their writings and expressed the events against Islam in general and against the Turks in particular. They have arguably influenced the objectivity of the perception of the Ottoman and Muslim image in the world public opinion. One of these missionaries is Edwin Munsell Bliss. Bliss, who we would describe as an American missionary, author and editor, expressed the oppressed Armenian and terrible Turkish theme in his writings and he negatively affected the Ottoman image in the Western public opinion with undocumented and unfounded criticisms directed against the Islamic religion in general and the Turks in particular. In this study, we will examine the example of Edwin Munsell Bliss and examine the impact of the writings written by the missionaries and shared with the Western public and try to highlight the history of the problem.Article Citation - WoS: 7Citation - Scopus: 8Interval Type-2 Fuzzy C-Control Charts Using Ranking Methods(Hacettepe Univ, Fac Sci, 2019) Teken, Hatice Ercan; Anagun, Ahmet SermetControl charts are important for process or product because they provide information about the control situation of process and product. Because of this feature, control charts are used in many fields. Information about the product and/or process, which is under control or not, can be provided by looking the control charts. Fuzzy numbers are used to reduce information losses in operations with crisp numbers. In control charts applications, especially for qualitative control charts, the fuzzy set theory reduces the information losses and provide more flexible decision-making process. In the literature, there are some fuzzy control charts with type-1 fuzzy sets but there are few studies about fuzzy control charts regarding the cases where the data are expressed by type-2 fuzzy sets. The purpose of the study is to create an innovation using the ranking methods, which has not used for control charts in accessible literature, for the fuzzy control charts with interval type-2 fuzzy sets. The fuzzy results are compared with the crisp results. This study introduces ranking methods as new approach to generate interval type-2 fuzzy control charts, which is a different field. Article Citation - WoS: 17Citation - Scopus: 19Lebesgue-Stieltjes Measure on Time Scales(Scientific Technical Research Council Turkey-Tubitak, 2009) Deniz, Ash; Ufuktepe, ÜnalThe theory of time scales was introduced by Stefan Hilger in his Ph. D. thesis in 1988, supervised Bernd Auldbach, in order to unify continuous and discrete analysis [5]. Measure theory oil time scales was first constructed by Guseinov [4], then further studies were made by Guseinov-Bohner [1], Cabada-Vivero [2] and Rzezuchowski [6]. In this article, we adapt the concept of Lebesgue-Stieltjes measure to time scales. We define Lebesgue-Stieltjes Delta and del-measures and by using these measures, we define ail integral adapted to time scales, specifically Lebesgue-Stieltjes Delta-integral. We also establish the relation between Lebesgue-Stieltjes measure and Lebesgue-Stieltjes Delta-measure, consequently between Lebesgue-Stieltjes integral and Lebesgue-Stieltjes Delta-integral.Article Citation - WoS: 11Citation - Scopus: 14Legendre Wavelet Solution of High Order Nonlinear Ordinary Delay Differential Equations(Scientific Technical Research Council Turkey-Tubitak, 2019) Gumgum, Sevin; Ersoy Ozdek, Demet; Ozaltun, GokceThe purpose of this paper is to illustrate the use of the Legendre wavelet method in the solution of high-order nonlinear ordinary differential equations with variable and proportional delays. The main advantage of using Legendre polynomials lies in the orthonormality property, which enables a decrease in the computational cost and runtime. The method is applied to five differential equations up to sixth order, and the results are compared with the exact solutions and other numerical solutions when available. The accuracy of the method is presented in terms of absolute errors. The numerical results demonstrate that the method is accurate, effectual and simple to apply.Article Citation - WoS: 17Citation - Scopus: 20Lucas Polynomial Solution of Nonlinear Differential Equations With Variable Delays(Hacettepe Univ, Fac Sci, 2020) Gumgum, Sevin; Savasaneril, Nurcan Baykus; Kürkçü, ÖmÜr Kıvanç; Sezer, MehmetIn this study, a novel matrix method based on Lucas series and collocation points has been used to solve nonlinear differential equations with variable delays. The application of the method converts the nonlinear equation to a matrix equation which corresponds to a system of nonlinear algebraic equations with unknown Lucas coefficients. The method is tested on three problems to show that it allows both analytical and approximate solutions.Article Citation - WoS: 11Citation - Scopus: 11A Novel Graph-Operational Matrix Method for Solving Multidelay Fractional Differential Equations With Variable Coefficients and a Numerical Comparative Survey of Fractional Derivative Types(Scientific Technical Research Council Turkey-Tubitak, 2019) Kürkçü, ÖmÜr Kıvanç; Aslan, Ersin; Sezer, MehmetIn this study, we introduce multidelay fractional differential equations with variable coefficients in a unique formula. A novel graph-operational matrix method based on the fractional Caputo, Riemann-Liouville, Caputo-Fabrizio, and Jumarie derivative types is developed to efficiently solve them. We also make use of the collocation points and matrix relations of the matching polynomial of the complete graph in the method. We determine which of the fractional derivative types is more appropriate for the method. The solutions of model problems are improved via a new residual error analysis technique. We design a general computer program module. Thus, we can explicitly monitor the usefulness of the method. All results are scrutinized in tables and figures. Finally, an illustrative algorithm is presented.Article Citation - WoS: 4Citation - Scopus: 4On the Hilbert Formulas and of Change of Integration Order for Some Singular Integrals in the Unit Circle(Scientific Technical Research Council Turkey-Tubitak, 2018) Bory Reyes, Juan; Abreu Blaya, Ricardo; Perez De La Rosa, Marco Antonio; Schneider, BaruchWe obtain some analogues of the Hilbert formulas on the unit circle for alpha-hyperholomorphic function theory when alpha is a complex number. Such formulas relate a pair of components of the boundary value of an alpha-hyperholomorphic function in the unit circle with the other one. Furthermore, the corresponding Poincare-Bertrand formula for the alpha-hyperholomorphic singular integrals in the unit circle is presented.Article Citation - WoS: 3Citation - Scopus: 3A Reduced Computational Matrix Approach With Convergence Estimation for Solving Model Differential Equations Involving Specific Nonlinearities of Quartic Type(Scientific Technical Research Council Turkey-Tubitak, 2020) Kürkçü, ÖmÜr KıvançThis study aims to efficiently solve model differential equations involving specific nonlinearities of quartic type by proposing a reduced computational matrix approach based on the generalized Mott polynomial. This method presents a reduced matrix expansion of the generalized Mott polynomial with the parameter-alpha, matrix equations, and Chebyshev-Lobatto collocation points. The simplicity of the method provides fast computation while eliminating an algebraic system of nonlinear equations, which arises from the matrix equation. The method also scrutinizes the consistency of the solutions due to the parameter-alpha. The oscillatory behavior of the obtained solutions on long time intervals is simulated via a coupled methodology involving the proposed method and Laplace-Pade technique. The convergence estimation is established via residual function. Numerical and graphical results are indicated to discuss the validity and efficiency of the method.Article Citation - WoS: 20Citation - Scopus: 23Separate Contraction and Existence of Periodic Solutions in Totally Nonlinear Delay Differential Equations(Hacettepe University, 2012) Adivar M.; Islam M.N.; Raffoul Y.N.In this study, we employ the fixed point theorem of Krasnoselskii and the concepts of separate and large contractions to show the existence of a periodic solution of a highly nonlinear delay differential equation. Also, we give a classification theorem providing sufficient conditions for an operator to be a large contraction, and hence, a separate contraction. Finally, under slightly different conditions, we obtain the existence of a positive periodic solution.Article Weak Solutions of a Hyperbolic-Type Partial Dynamic Equation in Banach Spaces(Hacettepe Univ, Fac Sci, 2015) Yantir, Ahmet; Soyoğlu, DuyguIn this article, we prove an existence theorem regarding the weak solutions to the hyperbolic-type partial dynamic equation z(Gamma Delta)(x, y) = f(x, y, z(x, y)), x(x, 0) = 0, z(0, y) = 0 , x is an element of T-1, y is an element of T-2 in Banach spaces. For this purpose, by generalizing the definitions and results of Cichon et. al. we develop weak partial derivatives, double integrability and the mean value results for double integrals on time scales. DeBlasi measure of weak noncompactness and Kubiaczyk's fixed point theorem for the weakly sequentially continuous mappings are the essential tools to prove the main result.
